UNZUCHT RUNWAY
At Berlin Fashion Week, MAJÈRE, in collaboration with the queer-feminist production label Vproud.uction, presents their latest collection "UNZUCHT" SS25 at the historic Stadtbad Oderberger. The collection draws its inspiration from Hieronymus Bosch's painting The Garden of Earthly Delights, a masterpiece that depicts humanity's inclination towards sin and the consequences that follow in the afterlife. Through its three panels—Garden of Eden, Garden of Earthly Delights, and Hell—Bosch visualizes the allure and fleeting nature of worldly pleasures and the resulting punishments in the hereafter. The work serves as a moral warning against the temptations of sensual indulgences and the inevitable consequences of sin.
Under the creative direction of Alawi Harris, Anaïs Fabricius, and Luis Steigleder, MAJÈRE reinterprets the essence of the painting in their current collection by exploring themes of creation, disillusionment, and seduction, challenging religious beliefs and societal norms. By using natural materials sourced from surplus stock and second-hand finds, the collection conveys a symbiosis between humans, animals, and nature, reflecting a deep connection with the world around us.
